OPTIONS WHEN BUYING – Evaporator vs. Air Handler
You will need to replace the indoor evaporator coil or air handler when upgrading or replacing your air conditioning condenser if your AC system is more than ten years old.
- Select Either the Evaporator Coil or Air Handler when selecting your system.
- An evaporator coil is located indoors and is either installed with your furnace or as part of your existing AC air handler.
- An air handler is the indoor equipment of an air-conditioning system that has the blower which pushes the AC air throughout your home and has an evaporator coil as part of a complete system.
- To get started, pick the air conditioning system by size, either from your existing equipment to be replaced, or you’ll want to figure the square footage of the area to cool (length x width = square footage) and check it against our Sizing Chart below.
- There is no need to worry about sizing your air conditioning system because we will check everything at our pre-installation visit before we deliver or install your new system.
Sizing your AC System using the Sizing Chart
- Use the SIZING CHART below if you do not have the nameplate information or sizing for a new air conditioning system for your existing hot air heating system.
- All you have to do is select the total square footage of the area you are looking to air condition to determine the size of the AC System you are going to need.
- You do not need to worry about your selection because we will check everything out at the Pre-Installation Walk-Thru before scheduling the work.
